Experts: Trade embargo, foreign make slow down component supplies
MOSCOW, Aug 1 (PRIME) -- Russian developers of information protection means have problems with deliveries and purchases of foreign components because they are all manufactured abroad and some foreign companies imposed a trade embargo, experts told PRIME on Monday.
“When we speak about equipment delivery, there is a problem with supplies not of software but hardware, hardware of overall profile and specialized. This is because of the embargo applied by some companies against Russia,” Mobile Research Group leading analyst Eldar Murtazin said.
Media reported earlier that the country’s developers of means of information security for banks, connection operators, and state information systems cannot execute the orders because of disrupted supplies of foreign components.
Murtazin said that the companies now have to pay more for the equipment they need.
News and research agency TelecomDaily General Director Denis Kuskov said that the difficulties stem from the fact that all components are produced abroad.
